Summer Registration Open At Wooster

DANBURY — Wooster Community Art Center (WCAC) is currently accepting student registration for summer 2000. WCAC offers specialized classes for adults, teens and children in the visual arts.

Adults and teens may choose from 35 classes and workshops in the following areas: drawing, painting (oil, watercolor, landscape), portraiture, life drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, children’s book illustration, art history, and open life sketching.

Children ages 5-13 may enroll in the WCAC SumART program.

A brochure of classes with full course descriptions is available. All classes are taught by professional artists with teaching experience. All levels of students are welcome.

Classes begin the week of June 26. Class size is limited to ensure individualized attention, therefore early registration is recommended.

WCAC is also offering a variety of workshops during the month of June including “3-D Sketching With Clay,” June 3-4, 10 am-2:30 pm; “Landscape Painting: Alla Prima” June 12-16, 10 am-3 pm; “Abstract Painting,” June 19-23, 10 am-3 pm; and two, week-long intensives in ceramics focusing on decorative techniques (June 12-15 or 19-22).

One-night lectures include “Animals In Art” on June 13, from 7-9 pm, “Portraits By Van Gogh And His Contemporaries,” on June 27, 7-9 pm; and “Creating A Business Web Site For Artists,” (June 26, 7-10 pm), which will present an overview of the process of building a web site with special attention to putting a portfolio on line.
