Bringing Medical Services To Those In Need
Bringing Medical Services
To Those In Need
To the Editor:
We would like to thank the hundreds of people and organizations who make it possible to operate a free medical clinic in Newtown.
Kevinâs Community Center free medical clinic continues to strive forward as a medical resource to our neighbors who are most in need. We are fortunate to have recently moved into wonderful temporary quarters at 153 South Main Street through the generosity of the DâAmico family. In cooperation with our town officials we are moving forward with plans to permanently relocate to a duplex on Fairfield Hills in less than two years. The adjustment to the grant language allows us to use our $500,000 state grant for renovations to a building on the Fairfield Hills site. Implicit in the grant award is the requirement that we continue to expand free medical services to residents of Newtown and that we serve a limited portion of those in need in surrounding towns.
The Board of Directors of Kevinâs Community Center wishes to express its sincere gratitude to everyone who has played a role in planning, volunteering, or donating resources to ensure the success of the free medical clinic these past seven years. We look forward to continuing to serve our neighbors in 2010 and beyond.
Sincerely,
Z. Michael Taweh, MD
