Margaret B. Mitchell

Margaret (Brennan) Mitchell, 71, of 7 Edelweiss Lane, Ridgefield, wife of the

late Walter B.J. Mitchell, Jr, died on February 6 at the Laurelwood

Rehabilitation Center, Ridgefield. She was the mother of Janet M. Mitchell of

Newtown.

Mrs Mitchell was born in Neponsit, N.Y., July 10, 1927, a daughter of the late

William R. and Margaret Mary (Healy) Brennan.

She attended New York schools and graduated from Manhattanville College, class

of 1949, with a major in music and English literature.

She was a retired financial manager for the Olin Corporation of Stamford where

she was employed from 1974 to 1992.

Mrs Mitchell was a member of St Elizabeth Seton Church of Ridgefield.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two other children, Walter

B.J. Mitchell, III, of Plainville, Mass. and Margaret M. Mitchell of Chicago,

Ill.; a brother, John J. Brennan of Manhasset, L.I., New York; a sister, Sr

Beatrice Brennan, RSCJ, of New York, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Ally, Nora

and Katie.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on February 10 in St Elizabeth Seton

Church, Ridgefield. Interment will take place at the convenience of the

family.
