7th-Graders Stopped By Trumbull
In âBâ Bracket Championship
David Lucia scored 18 points and Taylor Steimle added eight more, but the Newtown seventh-grade boys travel basketball team saw its season come to an end with a 54-44 loss to the Danbury D-Hawks in the championship game of the âBâ Bracket. The locals concluded the 2006-07 season at 16-10.

The boysâ fifth-grade travel team stopped Ridgefield, 37-33, before falling to Trumbull, 44-33, in the playoffs.
In the win over Ridgefield, Connor Gallagher and Jonah Muniz scored eight points each and played well on both ends of the floor. Virgil Procaccini was outstanding, leading the team in rebounds and scoring six points. Chase Wurtz and Grant Ricketts played well defensively. Mike Davis hit six foul shots to help clinch the victory.
In the loss to Trumbull, Matt Mossbarger scored 14 points â all in the second half â and had a terrific floor game. Drew Tarantino, Jim Parker, Bubba Leblanc and Matt Hoyt played well defensively
