The Children Of Newtown Win!               

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the Legislative Council for their interest in the children of Newtown. On March 9, 2000, at the budget deliberation meeting, Ms Johnson and Mr Holian reopened the motion to restore the entire $550,000 for the Amaral fields.

With that motion, the Legislative Council voted 10-2 to put back in the money that was removed earlier that evening. This time, the children of Newtown win!

I would like to thank Ms Pilchard, Mr Rosenthal, Mr Studley, Ms Baiad, Mr Borst, Mr Brennan, Mr Holian, Ms Johnson, Mr Kortze, and Mr White for their positive votes.
