Devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother
Janet Gloria Tryde, 82, beloved wife of Axel Tryde, died on March 27 at Danbury Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 15, 1924, in Georgetown, and was a lifelong resident there. She was the daughter of Emil and Ellen (Hagren) Stenberg.
In addition to her husband of almost sixty years, Mrs Tryde is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline and Steve zVon of Newtown, and her grandson, Steve zVon, Jr. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs Tryde was predeceased by all of her siblings, Anne Skerritt of Bridgeport, Pauline âPudâ Tarrant of Georgetown, Mildred Channing of Floral Park, N.Y., Marion âBeeâ Carlson of Georgetown, and Paul Stenberg of Georgetown.
Mrs Tryde was an active member of the United Covenant Church of Wilton, and could be found in the church kitchen preparing Swedish meatballs or Swedish pastry for church events while she was able. She was a member of the Sons of Norway, Olaf Lodge, and also of the American Legion Ladiesâ Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a proud and loving grandmother.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Danbury Hospital and Ashlar of Newtown for the care and comfort they gave Mrs Tryde in her final days.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service celebrating Mrs Trydeâs life will be held later in the spring.
