Send ‘Bear Hugs For Hope’

To Local Children With Cancer

ROCKY HILL — Everyday, children in Connecticut are touched by cancer. Some children are diagnosed with cancer, while others see their loved ones battle the disease.

To brighten their day and comfort them, the American Cancer Society is offering “Bear Hugs for Hope,” a new addition to the annual Daffodil Days Campaign.

For a minimum donation of $25, the society will anonymously provide a stuffed limited-edition Boyds bear to a local child impacted by cancer.

“The bear provides more than just smiles,” said Patrice Bedrosian, state director of communications for the American Cancer Society. “The generous donation enables the society to offer free programs and services that help people fight cancer with courage and optimism, while providing physical and emotional support and financial information to ease the cancer experience.”

Funds raised through the Daffodil Days campaign and products such as Bear Hugs for Hope, help in the fight against cancer and make a significant difference in services for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers.

Contributions provide the society with much-needed dollars to fund groundbreaking cancer research, educate people about the importance of cancer prevention and early detection, and advocate for meaningful public health policies that benefit everyone.
