FAIRFIELD â Ben Bagaglio of Newtown was recently selected to play with the 13-year-old AAU Connecticut Wolfpack Elite traveling baseball team â which is based at The Cage, a state-of-the-art training facility in Fairfield.
Bagaglio, a three-time Little League all-star, is slated to play both the outfield and third base for the Wolfpack. Bagaglio began taking batting lessons at The Cage, where he learned of the AAU All-Star team.
Paul Fournier, co-owner of The Cage and a Wolfpack coach, thinks Bagaglio has great natural hitting ability and a strong arm. âWeâre anticipating that Ben will be a great addition to the 13-year-old team,â he said. âHeâs a natural hitter and has a strong arm. We believe he can mature into an outstanding player.â
The Cage sponsors three AAU teams for payers 13 to 15 years of age. The 14-year-old Wolfpack team won the silver medal at the AAU National Invitational Tournament in Orlando, Florida.
