Martha F. Poppe

Beloved ‘Mum’

Martha F. Poppe, 79, died suddenly January 23, at West Marion Community Hospital in Florida. She was born in Cambridge, Mass., and moved to Ocala, Fla., in 1997 from Monroe.

She is survived by Arthur H. Poppe, her husband of 56 years. She was the beloved Mum of daughters Ann P. Preston and her husband, Michael, of Sandy Hook and Carla V. Poppe and partner, Terri May, of Ocala. One granddaughter; a great-grandson; two sisters; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews survive Mrs Poppe. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Flora Fleet, and a brother.

She was a former member of the Beacon Hill Evangelical Free Church of Monroe. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and was known for hand painting greeting cards. She was a retired secretary for Masuk High School in Monroe where she worked for 25 years.

Funeral services were January 28, in Ocala. Interment was in Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Ocala.
