NPOA Plans Traffic Forum
In light of increasing traffic volumes in the region, the Newtown Property Owners Association has scheduled a public forum on transportation issues for Monday, February 26, at 7 pm in the new lecture hall at Newtown High School, Berkshire Road, Sandy Hook.
The session will feature speakers Bill Messner of the state Department of Transportation, Jonathan Chew of the Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials, Don Droppo of Curtis Packaging, State Sen John McKinney, Fred Hurley of the town department of public works, and James Reilly of the town Police Commission.
The public will have an opportunity to ask the panelists questions about traffic issues.
The session is one of a series that the association is planning to spotlight issues of concern to residents in anticipation of the November municipal elections. The association plans to field candidates in those elections.
