SOUTHBURY — On Wednesday, April 26, the residents of East Hill Woods will host their eighth annual book and author luncheon. The public is invited.

The luncheon and a lively discussion will commence at noon. Individuals interested in attending must make a reservation by sending a check in the amount of $25 per person to Katharine Shinn, Treasurer, at 101 Birchwood, Southbury, CT 06488; or call 264-4753 to at least reserve a seat. Checks should be made payable to East Hill Woods Library Fund.

Proceeds from the luncheon will be used to enhance the collections of East Hill Woods’ library.

Three noted authors, all area residents, have been selected to speak at the book and author luncheon. Poet Susan Kinsolving establishes herself as one of today’s most gifted poets with her latest release, Dailies & Rushes. The collection is a nominee for the national Book Critics Circle Award this year. Her topic will be “Flowers, Movies and Poems.”

Dr Gerald Labriola of Naugatuck, a highly respected pediatrician, political activist and the author of three mystery novels, is currently working with state forensic expert Dr Henry Lee on a non-fiction book tentatively titled Trials of the Century. His topic of discussion will be “Physician to Politician to Mystery Writer.”

Sharon Schulze of Oakville, a romance novelist, has written four novels, with the fifth book expected shortly. She will talk on the romance novel industry.
