The Funky Fourth Graders

By Jenna Moser

and Laura Konkos

Laura Konkos and Jenna Moser interviewed the fourth grade teachers for the most spectacular stories! In the wonderful Mrs Tracy’s class, they just started reading a book called the Big Wave. Their class recommends the book and are really enjoying it. Mrs Tracy’s favorite Spring Break vacation was going to Aruba for her fifteenth Wedding Anniversary. Mrs Tracy and Mr Tracy have been married for about 19 years now. Congratulations!

All the kids and teachers in fourth grade just took a visit to Dance Asia to see a very creative dance, with people from all over the world dancing in it. Wow – how fun!

In Mrs Gallagher’s class they are starting a money unit. Right now they are reading Non-fiction books by themselves. Mrs Gallagher’s favorite Spring Break trip was when she took a trip to Montreal. She says, “There is a good variety of restaurants and it is a very fun city to visit.” She got to see a hockey game that was really amusing.

In Mr Haber’s class they are working on finishing division and how it relates to multiplication. They are reading Ying the Youngest and His Terrible Ear. That sounds like an interesting book. Mr Haber’s favorite vacation was when he went to St Marten on his honeymoon. He said it was great weather, great food, and great company. He got to relax, and he got to do what ever he wanted to do and he said what he liked most of all was that he didn’t have to correct any papers. I wish I went there!

In Mrs Malone’s class they are doing six digit numbers in math. “They struggled a bit at first, but I think they are getting the hang of it,” Mrs Malone says. Her favorite vacation that she went on was when she went to Bermuda because she loves hot weather and beaches. “It was so relaxing,” she says.

Now for the birthdays. The birthdays this month are Stacy Broughton for her tenth birthday, Michelle O’Rourke for her tenth birthday, Danielle Petrella for her tenth birthday, Trent Velazquez for his tenth birthday, and Matt Yakush for his tenth birthday. Happy Birthday! Now that we gave you the scoop on the fourth graders, Jenna Moser and Laura Konkos would like to say “good-bye and good-night.”
