Start Time Committee Urges Families To Respond

The Superintendent’s School Start Time Committee is encouraging parents and guardians of students currently in the Newtown school system to send in the assessment forms they received last week. Committee members want to hear from as many families as possible to better assess how school scheduling impacts Newtown’s children.

Committee members Wendy Leon-Gambetta, Barbara Bloom, and Deborra Zukowski are planning to tally all of the forms when they are received. The forms have a deadline of March 30 but Ms Zukowski said that as long as they are received by early next week, they will be included.

“This is your chance to let the Start Time Committee know how the change in school times has affected your child and it is our chance to better understand overall impact,” Ms Zukowski said. “Please fill out one form for each child, if possible. I just want to hear from as many people as possible.”
