Stanford White On Long Island

STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- A Stanford White Study Weekend, co-hosted by the

Victorian Society in America and the Museums at Stony Brook, is planned for

Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11.

On Saturday, participants will tour the exhibition "Stanford White on Long

Island" and attend the symposium "The Houses of McKim Mead & White on Long

Island." A reception will follow at Box Hill, Stanford White's country house.

Daniel W. White and Mr and Mrs F.L.P. White, will be the hosts. Samuel G.

White will autograph copies of his book, The Houses of McKim Mead & White.

On Sunday, October 11, participants will tour McKim, Mead & White commissions

in the Hamptons. Visits to houses in Montauk, Southampton, Shinnecock Hills,

and Quogue will be led by Samuel G. White.

Reservations may be made by sending $200 per individual to the VSA, 219 South

Sixth Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19106. This event is offered only to members
