New Patrol Officer

Joins The Police Force

The Police Commission has chosen a Danbury man as a new police patrol officer.

Robert Daubert, 26, is scheduled to start work March 9 and begin attending the police academy for training on March 16, Acting Police Chief Michael Kehoe said Tuesday.

Mr Daubert will be sworn into office before departing for the police academy.

Mr Daubert, who is single, has worked as a deputy sheriff for court security at Danbury Superior Court for several years.

He will become the 41st sworn police officer working for the town. The town is authorized to have up to 42 officers on duty.

Mr Daubert has been studying for a college degree in criminal justice at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Mr Kehoe said.

Mr Daubert is the fifth new police officer which the Police Commission has hired since October.

The others are Thomas Bean, 25, of Watertown; Renee Forte, 21, of East Haven; Steven Santucci, 24, of Wallingford; and Michael McGowan, 27, of Middletown.
