Despite the rain, almost 100 children competed in the MLS Dribble, Pass & Shoot contest sponsored by New York Life. The winners from the top three age divisions will be invited to compete in a Sectional competition, which will be held later this summer.

The winners are:

 

Boys

 

Ages 6 to 7 (no advancement beyond local contest) – 1. John Zener of Simsbury, 2. Daniel Grbic of Simsbury, 3. Mitchell Glasgow of Simsbury.

Ages 8 to 9 – 1. Sam Hoagland of Sandy Hook, 2. Dominic Wyne of Simsbury, 3. Franklin Sylvester of Seymour.

Ages 10 to 11 – 1. Stephen Koerting of Shelton, 2. Jeff Armington of Farmington, 3. Jamie Druzinsky of Farmington

Ages 12 to 14 – 1. Max Hoagland of Sandy Hook, 2. Paul Andras of Newtown, 3. Rich Grbic of Simsbury.

 

Girls

 

Ages 8 to 9 – 1. Jenna DiIorio of Rockville Center (New York), 2. Hilary Girard of Seymour, 3. Bridget Williams of Rockville Center (New York).

Ages 10 to 11 – 1. Megan Hansen of Newtown, 2. Genna Scheuerell of Sandy Hook, 3. Nora Lynn Shimko of Newtown.

Ages 12 to 14 – 1. Erin Clark of Newtown, 2. Mary Anders of Newtown, 3. Tara Gaston of Newtown.
