P&Z TAKES NO ACTION ON SUBDIVISIONS
Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) members conducted three public hearings
on subdivision requests September 7 but took no action on any of the
applications.
M&E Land Group is requesting a 15-lot residential subdivision known as Sleepy
Hollow Estates on 40 acres in the vicinity of Valley Field Road and Walnut
Tree Hill Road in Sandy Hook.
Arnold Miller is requesting a 6-lot residential resubdivision known as Saddle
Ridge Estates on 32 acres in the vicinity of Saddle Ridge Road and Hattertown
Road.
Also, Kevin J. Doyle is requesting a 2-lot residential resubdivision on 5
acres located in the vicinity of Zoar Road and Bennetts Bridge Road.
The P&Z is expected to act on the land development requests at upcoming
sessions.
In another matter, the P&Z had been scheduled September 7 to act on its
regulatory proposal designed to foster the economic development of Sandy Hook
Center, but P&Z members postponed action on the topic until their September 21
session.
The P&Z has proposed two actions to spur economic development in Sandy Hook
Center. These involve an amendment to the zoning regulations which would
create a Sandy Hook Design District, plus a zone change there to combine
several different zones into a single Sandy Hook Design District Zone.
Also, P&Z members named Town Attorney David L. Grogins as the commission's
assistant zoning enforcement officer for the enforcement of erosion and
sedimentation regulations.
