ON THE ROAD/SHANNON HICKS

Late bulletin: GREG BROWN will be returning to Newtown's Edmond Town Hall for

a concert on November 12. Details to follow in upcoming weeks...

TWISTED SISTER frontman DEE SNIDER will be hosting the evening when "Dee

Snider's Strangeland Tour" pulls into Hartford early next month. Snider has

produced the feature film Strangeland , which arrives in theatres October 2.

In conjunction with the film, bands featured on the soundtrack are now

crossing the country on the aforementioned Strangeland Tour.

SOULFLY, SNOT, (HED)PE and DAYINTHELIFE will be at The Globe Theatre in

Norwalk on Thursday, October 1, sans Snider. The full bill, including the host

man, will then be at The Webster Theatre in Hartford on Sunday the 4th.

The 70s cover band that we in the area have come to know and love, MOPPIN

SAUCE, has three shows upcoming within the next few weeks. This weekend the

band will be at Boppers in Danbury on Saturday night (Sept 26). The band will

return to the Danbury club on October 24. And for Halloween, Moppin Sauce --

its regular costumes and all -- will be at Fat Daddy's in Watertown on October

31.

Also on Halloween, radio station WPLR will host its annual Kooks & Spooks

Convention at Toad's Place in New Haven. That party starts around 9:30 pm, but

no word yet on who the entertainers will be.

The October 4 show by THE JOSHUA REDMAN BAND at Toad's Place has been changed

to an all-ages event. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. On

October 18, the club will present "An Evening with STRING CHEESE INCIDENT,"

also open to fans of all ages. In November, DUDE OF LIFE, lyricist for PHISH,

will be at the club on the 24th, the same night Phish is around the corner and

down the road a bit, at the New Haven Coliseum. The Phish show tickets won't

be on sale until October 10. Dude of Life's tickets are $8.50 ($10/door), and

on sale now. That's another all-ages show.

Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.
