P&Z Approves Subdivision

The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) has approved a 15-lot residential

resubdivision in Sandy Hook.

At an August 1 meting, P&Z members approved a request from Bennetts Farm

Associates, John C. Sibilia, and Aldo Melchinonno for Bennetts Farm, Section

III, representing 15 lots on 132 acres at the northerly extension of Yogananda

Street.

In another matter, applicant Joseph Dewhirst, and others, withdrew the

application for the resubdivision of Lot 8 at Hemlock Hills, representing 4

lots on 32 acres. The property is at the easterly extension of Winesap Road

and the terminus of Rockywood Drive.

In other business, the P&Z approved a two-lot subdivision on four acres at 27

Gelding Hill Road in Sandy Hook requested by PK Development, LLC.

The property contains one house. Another house is planned for the land.

Also, commission members approved a one-year extension of a sand and gravel

permit for Nagy Brothers Construction on Cold Spring Road.

In another matter, the P&Z approved a request from Michael and Valerie

Sorrentino for to allow them build a roof over the loading dock at Newtown

Hardware at 59-61 Church Hill Road, and also to install a propane-dispensing

tank.
