Armed And Informed Mothers
Armed And Informed Mothers
To the Editor:
I have seen the Million Mom March mentioned frequently in the news. They are a group of mothers who are in favor of gun control.
However, I have only seen a few references to another group of women who are organizing a march in favor of the constitutional and civil right to self-defense. This group of women is called the Second Amendment Sisters, Inc. Their proposed counter rally is called the Armed, Informed Mothersâ March. They formed to show the country that not all mothers are pro-gun control, regardless of what is shown in the news. The media never mentions how many violent acts are prevented by legally armed citizens, over 73,000 since January of this year. They want to emphasize the need for firearms safety education, tougher sentencing for violent criminals, and greater parental involvement in the lives of children. They can be reached by calling toll-free 877/271-6216 or at their web site, http://www.sas-aim.org
I want to also mention that a great number of the school shooters all had one thing in common, that being they were on prescription psychiatric drugs, including Ritalin, Prozac, Paxil just to mention a few. These drugs are known to have side effects that include mood changes, agitation, irritability, confusion and bizarre behavior.
I find it interesting that the increase in these multiple victim shootings rises along with the increasing popularity of these mind altering drugs that 8 million of our nations children (some as young as 2) are prescribed. So is it the NRA or the FDA? Use your own âcommon-sense.â Do you march for useless gun locks, and to abolish your childâs right to defend themselves or to let Congress know that our constitutional rights are not negotiable?
