Second Suit Filed Over Accident With Police Cruiser
A local woman is suing the town and a police officer for money damages in
connection with an August 1996 accident in which the policeman drove into her
vehicle.
In the lawsuit filed August 5 in Danbury Superior Court, Kimberly W.
McDonnold, 40, of 2 Diamond Drive, sues Patrol Officer Douglas J. Wisentaner,
30, in connection with an August 8, 1996, auto accident at the intersection of
Glover Avenue and South Main Street.
When the collision occurred, Wisentaner was responding to an accident about a
half mile away.
In the lawsuit, Ms McDonnold seeks $4,723 to cover damages to the 1989 Toyota
Camry she was driving.
In another lawsuit filed last April, Ms McDonnold seeks monetary damages,
costs, interest, and other relief exceeding $15,000 for pain and injury
stemming from the accident.
Following the August 1996 accident, both Wisentaner and Ms McDonnold received
written motor vehicle warnings.
