Town Sued Over Parking Lot Accident
A local attorney has informed Town Clerk Cynthia Curtis that he is filing a
claim against the town for his client who was injured in the parking lot of
Newtown High School.
In a letter dated June 8, Atty Stephen D. Wippermann said Rosemary McCulloch
was getting out of her car in the parking lot when she stepped into an
unfilled hole, causing her to fall and causing injury to her elbow. She was
transported by ambulance to Danbury Hospital, Mr Wippermann said.
The attorney said Ms McMulloch suffered a dislocated elbow and muscle and
nerves were damaged.
"There is probable cause that there will be permanent injury," Atty Wippermann
said.
He said a claim is being filed on her behalf, adding that the town knew or
should have known of the open pothole.
