Rachel Basch To Speak

At Library Book Club Celebration

The 75th Anniversary Committee and Friends of the C.H. Booth Library invite the public to a Celebration of Book Groups, Thursday, March 1, at 7:30 pm, in the meeting room of the library on Main Street.

Newtown author Rachel Basch will be the keynote speaker for the night, which along with spotlighting book clubs from town will be the kick-off of the NewtownREADS program for 2007.

NewtownREADS is a townwide program that promotes the reading of one book by residents, and includes events during the months of March and April related to that book. Residents can receive a free copy of the selected book at various locations around town on Friday, March 2.

Representatives of several of the local book clubs will be on hand the evening of March 1 to talk about some of their favorite books and times together. The club members will also offer some new and creative ways to discuss books, and “book group tested” title lists will be available.

Enjoy some book-related snacks and be one of the first in town to find out the title of the book everyone will be talking about this spring.

For more information, call the library at 426-4533.
