Inmate Charged With Harassment

State police said a Garner Correctional Institution inmate is being charged with harassment in connection with an incident that occurred at the high security prison on Nunnawauk Road last week.

State police said inmate Clayman Whitaker, 40, sent a letter to the warden which contained a dried, red, blood-like substance.

A prison worker who opened the letter was exposed to the substance, according to state police.

Whitaker will appear in Danbury Superior Court to answer to the harassment charge, state police said.
