Thank You, Newtown Voters
To the Editor:
Thank you to all those who turned out to vote in the budget referendum on April 22.
Almost a quarter of eligible voters cast their ballots, and both budgets and all the capital improvement projects on the referendum passed. Newtown will continue to be the home we treasure, one of the safest places in the state, and to have excellent schools, thanks to the voters.
When I use our beautiful parks and waterfronts, I’ll thank the voters.
When I walk in beautiful Fairfield Hills, I’ll thank the voters.
When I see a pothole being filled or a bridge being repaired, I’ll thank the voters.
When my road is plowed in winter, I’ll thank the voters.
When I see a policeman keeping us safe, I’ll thank the voters.
When I go to the transfer station with my garbage and compost, I’ll thank the voters.
When I see our wonderful library open and full of patrons, I’ll thank the voters.
When I pass one of our excellent schools, and when I see the high school roof being repaired, I’ll thank the voters.
When I go to an event at Edmond Town Hall or use the Community Center, I’ll thank the voters.
Thank you, voters, for supporting Newtown!
