To The Editor:

The Danbury Music Centre, in cooperation with the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, presented the DMC Community Band in concert June 1 to an enthusiastic crowd at the Newtown Congregational Church.

Founded in 2021 by its director, Albert Montecalvo, the band’s program included classics like “Amazing Grace,” as well as “The Circus Band” by Danbury native Charles Ives.

The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission was honored to be part of bringing live music to Newtown and we thank the Danbury Music Centre and the DMC Community Band for making this possible.
