The first weekend in June means summer is around the corner, and like clockwork for the past 72 years, it also means Lathrop School of Dance (LSOD) Stardust Revue hits the stage at the Edmond Town Hall.

Last past weekend, dancers of all ages performed in the 73rd Stardust Revue, showcasing their talents to family and friends, offering something for everyone.

Little ballerinas flirted about the stage as they watched their teacher, Miss Tamra, guide them through their routine. Country, tap, ballet, hip hop, dramatic style routines and even in a Christmas number, dancers flashed their talent during performances while audiences brought energy by clapping and cheering.

Singing while dancing routines, lots of smiles and happiness glowing on stage could be seen throughout dancers of all ages. Stardusters, Jr Stardusters, Lathrop Dancers, Lathrop Dance Team, Divas and everyone in between were radiant and excited while gliding and tapping their routines on the stage. A happy year to “celebrate,” this year’s LSOD theme.

Growing up in Lathrop style, current studio Owner-Director Tamra Saric loves to bring back traditions of LSOD to treat the audience, and this year was no exception. To close the 73rd Stardust Revue, the Stardusters performed “Elk’s Parade,” a choreographed number by none other than Mack Lathrop. The dance routine was first performed in 1971, a classy number straight off vaudeville with a display of elegance, grace and flowing taps in style. Stardusters performed the routine in true Lathrop fashion this year under the guidance of former Owner-Dancer Diane Wardenburg.

The 73rd Stardust Revue was truly a Broadway style performance seen once again on Newtown’s Edmond Town Hall stage. Yes, it was the best show ever!
