Family: Myself, my husband Mike, and my 18-year-old son Dylan.

Pets: We have Pepsi, a 7-year-old golden; Polly, who is about 4 and also a golden; and our newest addition is Wolfie, a 6-year-old husky we’ve had for less than a month.

How did you meet your husband? A long, long, long time ago we both worked at Red Lobster. He was a bartender and I was a waitress.

Work: I work for Connecticut Nursing Services, a non-medical homecare based out of Brookfield, but we service Fairfield County, New Haven County, and Litchfield County. We arrange for caregivers and companions. My job is to go out and build relationships within the community. I get to do things like Paint & Sip at Newtown Senior Center, and craft activities at assisted living communities, or host fundraisers for people.

Are you an active member of any clubs, organizations, and/or communities of faith? I am just newly appointed to the board for the Alzheimer’s Association, which is exciting for me. I have been working in dementia care my entire adult life. I’m looking forward to becoming very active with that. I currently volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association doing support groups, community education programs, and awareness presentations.

Who would you like to be stuck in an elevator with? A good singer. It doesn’t even have to be someone famous, I would just like to entertain myself while we’re in there.

Favorite food? Lobster.

Do you have any unusual or surprising talents? I cannot wink — which I think is an unusual thing to not be able to do, and I have tried — but I can curl my tongue and whistle like an owl.

Favorite type of music? Honestly, anything. I love so much music. Some people who know me call me The Human Jukebox because all you have to do is start a sentence, and if there’s a word in the sentence that’s in a song, I’ll sing that song.

What was the most recent concert you went to? I just went to see Spin Doctors, Gin Blossoms, and Blues Traveler at Mohegan Sun.

Favorite color? Yellow.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? “You’re not the first one to feel this way.” It was very impactful and very needed when it was given to me.

Favorite season? Without a doubt, spring. It’s cool, it’s sunny, it’s a beautiful time of year — the leaves, the temperature, everything — and you know summer is coming.

What is your favorite thing about Newtown? It’s a nice, cozy community. I grew up in Brookfield, so literally right next door, and I love the development Newtown is having right now. I love what’s been done with Fairfield Hills, and there is nothing more iconic than the flagpole. I also love the diner. Any chance I can go there, I’m in.

Do you have a personal credo? Things happen for a reason.
