Elections Have Consequences XII

To The Editor:

PT Trump hired a bunch of clowns to run the government and is now the ringleader of a circus in DC. Few of the cabinet members are qualified for the positions they hold but they all excel at being contortionists. Just watch them tie themselves into knots professing their adoration for Trump while praising his wisdom and decision making even when they know they are flat out misrepresenting the truth (i.e., lying). Anyone who does not prove to be sufficiently obsequious could incur the wrath of looney Laura Loomer and find themselves being shot from a cannon.

Kristi Noem, Homeland Security Secretary, loves playing dress-up and directing the clown cars full of masked ICE agents (at least they aren’t wearing white hoods) as they chase undocumented people around in circles. Turns out it’s easier to catch law abiding people than going after the true bad guys. To that end, resources from other law enforcement agencies are being diverted to helping ICE while putting terrorists, human and drug traffickers and white-collar criminals off to the sidelines thus making Republicans the party that is soft on real crime.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who has a “friends and family plan” for disseminating troop movements, is now promoting a white Christian nationalist pastor who believes that women should not be allowed to vote.

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff’s high wire act has him going back and forth between Netanyahu and Putin trying to win Trump a Nobel Peace Prize, and he is getting played by both men. RFK Jr is playing doctor and might soon be handing out placebo pops to kids in lieu of vaccines.

Science across the board and reliable economic data are being replaced with smoke and mirrors. Oh — and let’s not forget the Epstein Files which is a side show all to itself, that Trump is hoping to make disappear with his magic distraction wand.

There are 1258 days left of this administration and once the show is over someone is going to have to clean up after all the elephants.

Kathy, your countdown to the “end of the Trump Circus” sounds more like a preview for the greatest show on earth. It’s refreshing to finally have a team that knows how to work without a net. It sure beats the stale, grey bureaucrats who’ve been shuffling paper for decades and calling it “public service while literally being asleep at the wheel. With all the juggling, tightrope acts, and cannon shots you describe, why wouldn’t we want an encore? Forget 1,258 days, keep counting, Kathy—just remember, the circus doesn’t end when you think it does. Sometimes, the ringleader just announces a second show.
