Support For Chris Gardner
To the Editor:
I am pleased to write in support of Chris Gardner for re-election to the Legislative Council, District 1. I have known Chris for some 15 years. Chris is an amazing public servant. He has served on the Legislative Council for the past four years, and prior to that he served two years on the Board of Finance. Chris has also been on the Borough’s Board of Burgesses for nearly 14 years and presently is Senior Burgess. For the past ten years, Chris has been the Keeper of the Flagpole, meaning he’s responsible for the maintenance of the Main Street flag and flagpole, arranging for flag changes and repairs (Winter/Summer flags) Thank you Newtown Hardware for donating the flags each season and Hook and Ladder for the utility work!
(Also, another note, this summer the flag tore, a special shout out to seamstress, Rosa Cordova at Queen Street Cleaner who triple sewed it for $25. Replacement of the flag would have cost $800.00. Thank you Rosa, on behalf of the Borough and all of Newtown!)
Chris is one of the persons I go to when contemplating Town and Borough issues. And, visa, versa. (I have served more than 15+ years as Chair or Vice-Chair on the Board of Finance, four years as a Selectman, 20+ years as a Burgess and 12 years as the Warden of the Borough.) His incites and suggestions are invaluable. He is personable, open-minded, financially disciplined and can think out of the box. In my opinion, Chris Gardner is a top-shelf vote.
Please vote, November 4!
These are my own opinions and not necessarily those of any Board or Committee upon which I sit.
