To The Editor:

I am writing in today to support my husband, Ben Ruben, and his reelection efforts for Legislative Council District 3. I’m writing not only as his wife, but also as someone who has had the unique opportunity of seeing the dedication, reliability and passion it takes day after day to fill the role of this position.

Ben is deeply committed to the future of this town. Whether he’s attending local events, listening to residents’ concerns, or working to prepare for council and subcommittee meetings, he always puts the needs of this community on top. Not to mention, being extremely hardworking professionally, and being present for me and our two children. Combined, that’s not an easy feat, I’ll be the first to admit it! His work over the last two years to keep taxes affordable has been an uphill battle that he is willing to continue to fight for. He believes in building up Newtown, especially the potential of Fairfield Hills campus, and welcoming sensible commercial development while maintaining Newtown’s beautiful, unique charm. Don’t hesitate to ask him his thoughts on trash and recycling, too!
