Endorses Ruben
To The Editor:
For those in Newtown’s District 3:
It’s not every day that you get to endorse a candidate who also happens to be one of your closest friends — but that’s exactly what I have the opportunity to do. I am proud, once again, to support Ben Ruben for his seat on the Legislative Council in District 3.
I met Ben almost four years ago, when we were both somewhat new in town, navigating life with young kids and all the fun and work that comes along with it. Fast forward to a few years and our kids are going to school alongside each other; our families are often together over the weekends — we have even all spent holidays together. You truly learn a lot about people when you’re spending this much time with them.
What I admire about Ben both as a friend and a candidate is his approachability, genuine care of people and overall honesty. He’s the kind of person who listens then speaks with purpose and follows through. Exactly what this town needs for the Legislative Council. Whether it’s community issues, policy decisions or just being a reliable friend.
District 3 has been lucky to have Ben as a representative for their residents. He brings a thoughtful voice to meetings, and I trust he will continue to do so for another two years. Our community is lucky to have him. I couldn’t be more confident in his leadership and look forward to continuing this journey with him not only as a resident but a lifelong friend.
