Flagpole Photographers To Host Composition Presentation, Monthly Competition Night
Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will kick off its October programming with a free presentation, “Directing Eyes: A Composition Program,” on Thursday, October 9, at 7:30 pm. The event will be offered both in person at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street, and online.
Presenter Rhonda Cullens, vice president of The New England Camera Club Council (NECCC) and an HonNEC award recipient, has long supported the regional photography community through leadership and education.
As exhibit chair for Flagpole Photographers, she will demonstrate techniques for arranging visual elements to draw the viewer’s eye and create compelling, story-driven images.
The club will continue that momentum with its monthly competition night at the senior center on Thursday, October 23. Members will present images in Nature, Open Color, Open Monochrome, Assigned Subject, and Monthly Challenge categories. October’s Assigned Subject is Food and the Monthly Challenge theme is Elderly. Social time begins at 7 pm, followed by the competition at 7:30 pm. Visitors are welcome.
