To The Editor:

Most people in town know me as “Haby.” I’m a small business owner who’s usually out fixing something somewhere around Newtown. I’m not involved in politics, but I do know what it means to work hard, keep your word, and get the job done right. That’s exactly why I’m supporting Tom Long for re-election to the Legislative Council.

I’ve gotten to know Tom over the years through local sports — mostly golf and pickleball — and we’ve worked together with others in the community to help get the town pickleball courts repaired. Through those experiences, I’ve seen that Tom is honest, thoughtful, and steady. He listens before he acts, and when he says he’ll follow through on something, he does.

Tom has a strong understanding of how the town operates and takes the time to dig into the details. He’s the kind of person who reads every report, asks good questions, and focuses on practical solutions, not politics. That’s the kind of leadership Newtown needs.

He’s running as an unaffiliated, petitioning candidate, which means you’ll have to look a little further down the ballot — five rows down, to be exact. But trust me, he’s worth finding.
