To the Editor:

I enthusiastically endorse Jeff Capeci for First Selectman of Newtown. As a former First Selectman of Brookfield, I know what it takes to be in the top spot and Jeff brings the leadership, vision, and collaborative spirit needed to move Newtown forward.

Having worked closely with Jeff, I’ve seen firsthand his deep commitment to addressing the issues that matter most to our community — affordability, economic development, local control and the overall well-being of every resident.

Jeff is a thoughtful listener and a decisive leader. He carefully analyzes situations and takes meaningful action, often reaching out to State Legislators such as myself and subject matter experts to ensure that solutions are well-informed and effective.

Jeff has chosen a running mate in Charlie Gardner who is highly qualified and has experience on multiple boards in town. Charlie’s legal expertise and knowledge of land use will be a welcomed and needed addition to the Board of Selectmen. Jeff and Charlie will lead with integrity, expertise, and heart.

I encourage you to cast your vote for Jeff Capeci and Charlie Gardner. Let’s ensure Newtown has the leadership it deserves.
