Paul Palubniak, of Oxford, died November 5, peacefully with his family by his side.

He was born August 25, 1933 in Glen Ridge, NJ to Anna Kostecka and Lester Palubniak and was the oldest of four children. He graduated from Bloomfield Technical High School in Bloomfield, NJ, and from the University of Bridgeport in 1962 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the Army Signal Corp. and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1962 from the Army Reserve.

He last worked as Principal Engineer for the Silicon Valley Lithography Co., formerly Perkin-Elmer Corp. in Wilton. One of the projects he worked on was the Hubbell Space Telescope. He was also a partner in LPT Corp. where he invented a type of kidney dialysis machine and held a patent on it as well as many patents. He worked for a time for Bolt Engineering in Norwalk, Farrell Corp. in Derby, and Avco-Lycoming in Stratford. He lived in Easton, Huntington and Trumbull retiring to Jackson in 1997, moving back to Connecticut in 2023.

He was an avid sailor, skier, golfer and prolific reader. He was a member of the Jackson Community Church, Jackson, NH and Newtown Congregational Church, CT. and a life-time member of the Fayerweather Yacht Club, Bridgeport.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan, a daughter, Susan Miller of Newtown and her husband, Joseph, a son, Bryan Boyd of Bothell, WA, two grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth and Kyle Scott Miller, two sisters, Vera Dosky of Ringwood, NJ, Eva Palubniak and was predeceased by a brother, Peter.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Newtown Congregational Church, Newtown, on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Newtown Congregational Church Air Conditioning/Heating Fund.
