Catherine Murphy (nee Clancy) entered into eternal rest on December 2, 2025, after a long illness in Southbury. She was 93 years old.

Catherine was born on May 27, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She worked for many years as a teacher for New York City.

She was the beloved daughter of the late James and Lillian Clancy. She was predeceased by her brother Edward and sister Theresa.

Catherine was the wife to the late Patrick James Murphy.

She was the beloved mother to Sheila, Maureen, Sean, Eileen, and Kevin. She was the mother-in-law to Heather, Tim, and Sharyn. She was beloved grandmother to Maggie, Emma, Mia, Conor, Skyler, James, and Kaitlin, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was the sister-in-law to Bridgette, Michael, and Rose.

She was a lover of animals, especially Yorkshire terriers.

Visitation and services will be private. Interment will be with her husband, P.J., at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Huntington, N.Y.
