Catharina Bagmeyer, 95, a longtime resident of Newtown, passed away December 24, 2025. She was the wife of Henrik (Hank) Bagmeyer, who we lost on December 25, 2024.

The Bagmeyers immigrated in 1956 from the Netherlands. Catharina (Tory) was born on December 10, 1930. She was a homemaker until her daughters were in high school. Catharina then worked in the kitchen at Fairfield Hills for many years until her retirement. Hank and Tory loved to travel in the winter to Florida, Barbados, and Curaçao, where one of Tory’s sisters lived.

She is survived by her daughter Tryntje “Tiny” Green and her fiancé Robert Norton of Brookfield; one grandson, Kris Green and his wife Kelli; and a great-granddaughter, Kallie. She is also survived by many adopted daughters and many friends in the United States and Netherlands, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catharina was predeceased by her husband Henrik and daughter Cathy; her parents, Andries and Hermina Velthuizen; and her brothers and sisters Sientje, Mientje, Andries, Lena, Gerrie, Beppie, Rita, Jose, and Wim.
