It is with deep sorrow, we share the unexpected passing of Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Doty on December 2, 2025.

Born on December 11, 1980 in Bridgeport, Liz was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Trumbull and attended St. Bonaventure University. She graduated from Empire State College and later completed her education with American Montessori Society. She will be remembered for her love of teaching, her kindness and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.

Liz is survived by her two daughters, Kateri Doty and Eve Doty; her mother Elizabeth (McDonald) Doty of Sandy Hook; and many siblings, Alfred Doty of Monroe, Matthew (Denise) Doty of Gaffney, SC., Charles (Nermine) Doty of Monroe, Timothy (Kim) Doty of Monroe, Joshua (Kristina) Doty of Milford, David (Dennis Marble) McDonald of New Port Richey, Fla., Marybeth (Jeff) Glen of Hudson, Ohio, Sean (Glenda) McDonald of Oakdale, Tenn., and Megan (Paul) Darragh of Southbury; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Alfred Doty Sr, and siblings Christopher McDonald, Bridget McDonald and Thomas MacDonald.

Liz was known for always helping those in need. Through her selfless decision to be an organ donor, she gave the extraordinary gift of life to others, leaving a legacy of compassion and generosity that will continue to touch lives far beyond her own.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the ICU at New Britain Hospital who displayed empathy and compassion while providing care and comfort to Liz and her family. In keeping with her Catholic faith, Liz received the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and Last Rites.

A Mass of Christian Burial and a private interment will be held at the discretion of the family in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Liz be remembered at a Mass at a parish of one’s choice and thoughtfully considers the gift of organ donation.
