Christ the King Lutheran Church Sunday School students participated in a Donation Drive-Thru on Saturday, March 21.

For three hours that morning the young churchgoers collected items for Dorothy Day Hospitality House in Danbury, which serves the homeless and needy population of Danbury.

Organizers requested travel sized toiletries items, clothing, and food, and donors did not disappoint.

Sunday School teacher Elizabeth Lowery said the children, who ranged from third to sixth grade, “were having a lot of fun while combining their time with community service.”

All items collected on March 21 were delivered to the shelter, which has been feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless since 1982.
