Charles Burke of Newtown passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 87.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Charles lived a life defined by creativity, style, and a deep appreciation for beauty. He built a distinguished career in interior design that spanned California, New York, and Connecticut, earning recognition for his sophisticated eye, originality, and talent for creating elegant, memorable spaces.

Over many decades, Charles worked in residential interior design, architectural planning, and lighting. His work was featured in prominent publications, and he was admired by clients for his confidence of vision, attention to detail, and ability to bring warmth and character to every environment he touched.

Charles will be remembered for far more than his professional accomplishments. He was witty, intelligent, expressive, and impossible to forget. He loved classic film, music, conversation, beautiful surroundings, and the art of living well. He possessed a sharp sense of humor, strong opinions, and a gift for making any room more lively simply by being in it.

In later years, Charles made his home in Newtown, where he enjoyed a quieter chapter of life while remaining engaged with the world and devoted to those closest to him.

He is survived by his husband, Vincent Capuano.

Charles will be deeply missed and remembered with affection, admiration, and gratitude.
