Show Up For Moore On May 26
To The Editor:
Newtown Democrats have an important choice to make, and the time to show up is now.
The Democratic caucus for the 106th District will be held Tuesday, May 26, at 6 PM sharp at Newtown Middle School. If you care about who represents Newtown in Hartford, please do not assume someone else will handle it. Democracy, irritatingly, requires attendance.
I will be proudly supporting Brandon Moore.
Brandon has served this country, including eight years in the military and a deployment to Afghanistan as an Apache attack helicopter pilot. He understands service not as a slogan, but as a responsibility.
Brandon was born and raised here in Connecticut. He and his husband, Mike, are such proud Newtowners and they will soon be raising their children together in this town that they love.
Brandon has earned broad support from Newtown's elected officials because people who have worked in public service recognize his seriousness, discipline, and character. I have seen that same commitment up close. Brandon is one of my closest friends, and I am deeply proud of the work he has put into this campaign, and proud to have worked alongside him.
There is also a final candidate forum on Friday, May 22, at 7 PM at the Newtown Community Center, for anyone still making up their mind.
On May 26, this choice becomes real. I urge Newtown Democrats to show up, be on time, and support Brandon Moore. I can’t think of a better way to spend my birthday than standing with a friend, a public servant, and the future I believe Newtown deserves.
