A Newtown Grandmother’s Support For Brandon Moore

To The Editor:

As a grandmother, I think often about the kind of community my grandchildren will inherit and the values they will see reflected in the people we choose to lead us. I want them to grow up believing government can still be a force for good, shaped by ordinary people who care enough to participate.

That is why I am supporting Brandon Moore for State Representative.

Every candidate in this race is intelligent. That should be the baseline expectation for public office. But intelligence alone is not leadership. What matters is whether someone can inspire people, engage people, and restore faith that government still belongs to all of us.

What makes Brandon different is that he understands leadership is not about talking down to people, but about inviting them in.

When I listen to Brandon speak, I hear someone who genuinely believes every person matters and every voice has value. I see someone my grandchildren could look up to, not simply because of his accomplishments, but because of the example he sets: service over ego, humility over division, and hope over cynicism.

Brandon served our country honorably in the military and has dedicated himself to public service. More importantly, he carries himself with a deep sense of responsibility to others and to future generations.

Too many young people today feel disconnected from government and doubtful that their participation matters. Brandon speaks directly to that challenge. He has a rare ability to make people feel seen, heard, and included in shaping the future of their community.

I believe Brandon Moore represents the very best of what Newtown can be. I urge Newtown Democrats to show up and support Brandon at the Democratic Caucus on May 26th at 6pm at the Newtown Middle School Auditorium.
