International Icons The Gipsy Kings Bringing Historia Tour To Edmond Town Hall
Global music sensation Gipsy Kings featuring Tonino Baliardo will bring their electrifying Historia Tour to Edmond Town Hall on Saturday, August 22, at 8 pm.
Known worldwide for their signature blend of flamenco, salsa, and pop, Gipsy Kings has sold millions of albums and created some of the most recognizable songs in world music history, including “Bamboléo,” “Djobi Djoba,” “Volare,” and “Baila Me.”
Led by founding member and virtuoso guitarist Baliardo, the group continues to deliver the passionate rhythms and vibrant live performances that have made them international icons for generations.
The band recently hit #1 on Amazon Prime Video with its documentary Gipsy Kings Featuring Tonino Baliardo. Directed by Joel Van der Molen, the music documentary explores the story and legacy of the legendary guitarist and the Baliardo family, tracking how they brought their rich Romani heritage to the world stage.
Baliardo, and the family, are actively evolving the sound while honoring a legacy that spans generations, continents, and genres. The documentary is bringing their story to entirely new audiences. The new music proves they’re still creating beautiful music and hitting intimate venues, not arenas, which makes for a much better story.
Meanwhile, the band’s new album, Historia, drops on May 29, followed by the eight-date August tour that will bring the band to 45 Main Street.
The evening at Edmond Town Hall promises an energetic celebration of music, culture, and unforgettable live performance. Doors will open at 7 pm and the show will begin at 8.
Tickets are $130-$165 each, and available now through edmondtownhall.org.
