To The Editor:

The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library is indebted to the many local institutions that partnered with us to make our 50th annual book sale a success.

Town officials assist us throughout the year and especially at book sale time. We are especially grateful to First Selectman Bruce Walczak who visited with our volunteers before the sale doors opened on July 11, and then read a proclamation honoring our half-century of support for the C.H. Booth Library.

We are grateful for the assistance of the Newtown School District, as well as that of the Public Works Department, Land Use Agency, Police Department and Borough of Newtown. Reed Intermediate School Principal Matt Correia and staff (especially the custodians) were, as always, most helpful.

These generous local businesses provided much-appreciated goods and services to the Friends: Angelina’s, Associated Refuse Haulers, Bagel Delight, Big Y, Blue Colony Diner, Caraluzzi's Markets, Carminuccio's Pizza, Costco, Cover Two, Dodgingtown Market, Domino’s, Dunkin', Durant's Party Rentals, Ferris Acres Creamery, Franco's Pizza & Pasta, Marie’s Movers, My Place Restaurant, Newtown Savings Bank, Nick’s Catering, Project Pizza, Pudelz T-Shirts, Sal e Pepe, Stew Leonard’s and Stop & Shop.

We also value the year-round support of the C.H. Booth Library staff and trustees, who provide top-notch services to the community.

Last but far from least, we thank The Newtown Bee for its excellent coverage of this beloved community event.
