To The Editor:

History is coming to Newtown, and we’re inviting the entire state of Connecticut to be a part of it. On August 30th, our community will host its first-ever half-marathon, alongside a 10K, 5K, and a kids’ race. Whether you are an elite runner from across the state or a local family looking for a morning walk, there is a place for you at the starting line.

This event, endorsed by First Selectman Bruce Walczak and Newtown Parks & Recreation, serves a powerful purpose. All net proceeds will benefit the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association in memory of Greg Ritzinger, a founding member of the Newtown Road Runners.
