SCAN To Welcome Jessica Teti Turgoose For Portrait In Pastel Demo
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will host Jessica Teti Turgoose demonstrating portrait in pastel on Tuesday, August 11, at 7:30 pm, at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street. The demonstration is open to the public and admission is free.
The artist earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in Painting in 1975 from Kutztown University, then continued classes at Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.
Among her many accolades, her work has been featured in one-person shows at Widener University in Pennsylvania and Church Street Gallery in West Chester, Penn.; and in a two-person show at Delaware County Community College, during which two paintings were purchased for the College’s permanent collection. Teti Turgoose’s paintings are also included in the H.S. Lenfest Collection.
She was selected in 2023 to be an elected artist at Lyme Art Association in Old Lyme, she won the Best of Show Award at the members exhibit of Connecticut Pastel Society, and she won Best of Show for the Philadelphia Pastel Society Juried Show in 2024.
Her work is represented in many private collections both nationally and internationally. Earlier this year, she exhibited at Mystic Museum of Art and won the Mary Barthelson Pastel Award in 2026.
