To The Editor:

I am writing in support of Amybeth Laroche for Connecticut’s 28th District State Senate seat. I have known Amybeth for some time and believe she would be a strong, practical voice for Newtown in Hartford.

Amybeth is a working mother, Newtown homeowner, and parent raising her daughter in our community. She understands firsthand the financial and everyday challenges facing Connecticut families. Through her current service on the Newtown Board of Finance, she has demonstrated her commitment to accountability, fiscal responsibility, and transparency.

Before entering local public service, Amybeth built her career in the private sector and government contracting, where success is measured by results, compliance, and responsible stewardship. That real-world experience matters. We need representatives who understand how decisions made in Hartford affect household budgets, local businesses, schools, and municipalities.

I particularly value Amybeth’s commitment to preserving local control. Decisions affecting Newtown should be made with meaningful input from the people who live, work, own businesses, pay taxes, and raise their families here not automatically dictated by Hartford. Amybeth has made it clear that she will carefully evaluate legislation based on its impact on affordability, taxpayers, and the ability of communities like Newtown to govern themselves.

Connecticut benefits when different perspectives are represented and those in power are held accountable. Amybeth would bring professional discipline, common sense, and a results-oriented approach to the State Senate.

For these reasons, I proudly support Amybeth Laroche for State Senate and encourage voters throughout the 28th District to support her on November 3.
