Support For AmyBeth Laroche
To The Editor:
I just want to voice my total support for Amybeth Laroche as the next senator from the 28th District. She is from our Newtown community, on our Board of Finance, and will actually Represent our interests in Hartford. I heard her make that pledge, and you can be sure of it.
I’ve seen letters in this space trying to make the case that her opponent, Mr. Blanchard, has eight years working for Lamont, and that qualifies him to try to represent us. No, most people I know have had enough of Hartford’s taxes, mandates and regulations.
We’re perfectly capable of living our own lives here in our towns. Being steeped in drafting an endless stream of taxes and regulations on small business and residents, is the LAST thing we seek in a state senator.
That kind of experience only assures that he will represent and explain Hartford’s interests back to Newtown. We need one of us representing us. After eight years of Democrat supermajority rule, Connecticut is now ranked the “2nd Most Financially Distressed State in America,” according to an extensive account of the metrics by the ‘Reason Foundation’ published in August. Just how long do we have to put up with this incompetence?
We must send a check and balance to Hartford to represent us. Amybeth Laroche is a working mom, who has spent her career in the private sector, struggling and succeeding to make a productive life. She’s not had over a decade of political pampering that comes with being connected to the majority political party.
Vote for Amybeth Laroche for State Senate in November. We need her now.
