Supports Laroche
To The Editor:
I’m writing today in whole-hearted support of Amybeth Laroche to represent Newtown in the State Senate. I’m really excited to see a Newtown resident stand up to represent our district in Hartford.
She’s been speaking to the challenges of rising electricity costs, our healthcare costs and the general budget squeeze we’re all experiencing in Connecticut. She knows, because she’s not a professional politician or bureaucrat, she’s out here with the rest of us, supporting her family. And it’s getting harder every year. She’s pledging to vote to reduce the taxes, fees and regulations that make it tough on small businesses and Newtown residents. Everyone seems financially stressed, and it doesn’t have to be this way.
But most of all, I’m backing Amybeth because she’s outside of the political game. She’s one of us. Her opponent, Rob Blanchard, has been a state bureaucrat for well over a decade, writing Ned Lamont’s press releases for eight years. He’s lived in three towns in the past five years, just arrived here in Newtown in July, and is already trying to pass himself off like he’s one of us. But there’s one interest he seems sure to represent, and that would be the high-tax, high-fees, over-spending Hartford Machine. We need a senator to fight for Newtown’s interests in Hartford, not the other way around.
That’s why I’m voting for Amybeth Laroche on November 3rd. Vote for the real Newtown candidate.
